Privacy and browser preferences

This page explains the techniques used by this site.

Comparison list

The IDs and names of the tools you select are kept in your browser’s session storage so the comparison survives page changes. That selection is not stored on the site as a user account. The “Clear” button resets the list.

Saved tools

When you press Save on a profile, the tool’s ID is stored in your browser’s local storage so the Saved page can list it. Nothing is sent to the site or linked to an account, and clearing your browser data removes the list.

Visitor reviews

If you submit a review, we store the name you enter (shown with the review), your email address (never published), your answers, and the IP address and browser details sent with the form. We use them to moderate reviews, block spam and repeated submissions, and contact you about your review if needed. A review is published only after an editor approves it. To have your review or its data removed, email us from the address you used.

Tool submissions

If you submit a tool, we store the details you enter about the tool, your name, your email address and your connection to the tool. We use your email once, to send a confirmation link, and the editor may reply about the submission. We don’t add you to any mailing list and don’t publish your name or email. The IP address is not stored; a short-lived, one-way code limits repeated submissions. Unconfirmed submissions are deleted after 7 days, declined ones after 90 days; accepted ones are kept while the profile is prepared. To have a submission deleted earlier, email us from the address you used.

Price-change emails

If you ask for a price alert or the weekly price-changes digest, we store your email address, the tools you chose and the date you confirmed. Nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link; unconfirmed requests are deleted after 7 days. Price alerts are sent only when the prices listed on a tool’s profile change; the weekly digest only in weeks when something changed. Emails are sent from our own mail server, contain no tracking pixels, and every one has a one-click unsubscribe link. Your address is never shared or sold, and the number of subscribers is not shown anywhere.

Official videos

Profiles show a preview image of the vendor’s official video, served from this site. The video itself loads from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) only after you press play; from that point YouTube’s and Google’s privacy terms apply.

Security and delivery

The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes requests to protect the site from abuse and may set strictly necessary security cookies. Email addresses on the site are protected by Cloudflare’s email obfuscation script.

Server logs

Requests to this site may record technical information such as IP address, requested page and access time in the web server logs. If an administrator signs in, WordPress session cookies apply.

Anonymous page counters

On tool profiles we count, per day, how many times a profile was opened, saved or used to visit the official site. The count is a single number per profile and day: we do not store your IP address, a cookie, an account or any identifier with it. Your browser keeps one small local note so the same profile is not counted twice in a day, and requests from known bots are ignored. These totals are shown on profiles only after 30 days of data, and they work independently of the analytics choice below.

Analytics choices

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits to public pages. Analytics is on by default for every visitor. You can turn it off at any time through “Analytics preferences” in the footer; after that we do not load the Google Analytics tag or send analytics requests to Google from this browser, and you can keep using the site as before.

If you turn analytics off, that preference is kept in this browser’s local storage for up to 180 days. While analytics is on, Google may set first-party _ga cookies and process page, browser, device and connection information. Our tag limits its analytics cookies to 180 days without extending that period on each visit. Advertising storage, ad personalization and Google signals are disabled. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites using its services.

We exclude signed-in users, previews, search and query-string URLs, 404 pages, and the Saved and comparison selectors from this installation. The page URL sent by our tag has no query string or fragment; referring pages are reduced to their origin. We do not add review text, email addresses, search terms or account IDs to our analytics events. Turning analytics off disables collection, removes accessible Google Analytics cookies set for this site, and reloads the page to stop the running tag. Information already sent is not removed by changing your browser preference.

Advertising and local assets

No advertising code is installed, and no advertising cookies are set. Fonts and tool logos are served from this server. Price-change emails are described above.

External links

When you continue to an official tool site, that provider’s privacy terms and conditions apply. Your Use AI for X comparison selection is not sent to those providers.
