Strengths and limits

PromptHero

Strengths

  • Free account to start: The pricing page offers a free plan with limited daily generations, and the sign-in page says to start with a free account.
  • Credits that do not expire: Credit packs of $59 for 1,000 and $99 for 2,000 roll over and accumulate, and can be bought without a subscription.
  • Failed generations refunded: The FAQ says credits are returned when a generation fails.

Limits to plan around

  • Monthly prices not visible: The pricing page opened on its yearly view, so monthly-billing amounts and the per-generation credit cost could not be read.
  • Broad content licence: The FAQ terms give PromptHero a perpetual licence to display, sell and make derivatives from contributions, including on other platforms.
  • Public unless you subscribe: Free and credit-pack generations are public, and public prompts and images are kept indefinitely.

Seedream

Strengths

  • Per-image prices are published: The BytePlus billing page lists a price for each model and resolution band, from $0.018 to $0.09 per output image.
  • Failed outputs are not billed: The billing page says images not output because of content moderation are not charged.
  • A free route exists: Dreamina's FAQ says free daily credits let you start without upfront payment.

Limits to plan around

  • Versions differ by surface: The Seed page shows 4.0, BytePlus 5.0 Pro and Dreamina 5.0 Lite, and nothing we read maps results between them.
  • Free allowance is not quantified: Dreamina does not state the daily credit amount on the page we read, and its pricing page was not found.
  • Resolution doubles the 5.0 Pro price: Output above 2.61 million pixels costs $0.09 instead of $0.045 per image.

Start from your task, not from a winner.

Run both tools on the same real task, then compare the result, how much editing it needs and how fast it uses your plan’s allowance.

Comparing tools from different categories is fine, and often useful — a writing assistant and a research tool solve different halves of the same job. The table will show you exactly where they diverge.

Questions about comparing tools

How does the comparison work?

Add two tools to the comparison tray from any tool card, then open this page. The table pulls each tool's verified plan details, platforms, strengths and limits from its profile, so both columns carry the same kind of evidence, with a separate source-check date for each tool.

Do you declare a winner?

No. The table sets two tools against each other on documented facts, not on a score. Which one wins depends on your task, your budget and your usage volume — three things we cannot see from here.

Why are some cells empty or marked unverified?

Because we could not confirm that detail on the vendor's own pages. Rather than filling the gap with a figure from elsewhere, we mark it and say why on the tool's profile.

Can I compare more than two tools?

Not at once. Two columns keep the differences readable and force a real decision. Remove either selected tool to replace it, or clear both to start a new pair.

Every figure in the table above comes from the linked profile, where the source and the verification date are listed. Browse all tools or read the editorial policy.
