Plans, free access, limits and intended use side by side, taken from each vendor’s own pages. No score and no winner: the facts show where the two differ.

Strengths and limits

Magic Patterns

Strengths

  • Visible spend: Each reply reports its credit cost and model, and the docs publish typical credits for one generation up to a 50-version project.
  • Free actions: Manual and visual edits, "Fix with AI", retries, exports and sharing use no credits.
  • You own the output: The Terms assign designs, code and interfaces you generate to you; Magic Patterns claims no ownership.

Limits to plan around

  • Free credits unquantified: The pricing page and docs say "free monthly credits" without a number, so the free allowance cannot be planned.
  • Free work trains the service: The Terms let Magic Patterns train on Free plan inputs and output and show Free designs in public galleries.
  • Key hand-off is paid: GitHub sync, MCP and design systems are marked as paid-plan features in the docs.

Durable

Strengths

  • Free trial run: The Free plan costs $0 and lets you generate and preview a site, try SEO basics, a small CRM and limited AI images and chat before paying.
  • Business tools in one place: Website, CRM, bookings, payments, reviews and SEO and GEO tracking are documented inside one dashboard.
  • Domain included on paid plans: Launch and Grow can register a domain through Durable, shown as up to $20 and up to $40 in value.

Limits to plan around

  • Tight Free allowances: Free is limited to 5 images and 10 AI chat messages per month and 10 customers, and keeps the Durable badge.
  • Limited code access: The pricing FAQ says Durable does not offer extensive HTML customization, and no website export is documented in the help center reviewed.
  • Domain transfer conditions: A domain bought through Durable needs three consecutive months of active subscription before it can be transferred out.

Comparing tools from different categories is fine, and often useful — a writing assistant and a research tool solve different halves of the same job. The table will show you exactly where they diverge.

Questions about comparing tools

How does the comparison work?

Add two tools to the comparison tray from any tool card, then open this page. The table pulls each tool's verified plan details, platforms, strengths and limits from its profile, so both columns carry the same kind of evidence, with a separate source-check date for each tool.

Do you declare a winner?

No. The table sets two tools against each other on documented facts, not on a score. Which one wins depends on your task, your budget and your usage volume — three things we cannot see from here.

Why are some cells empty or marked unverified?

Because we could not confirm that detail on the vendor's own pages. Rather than filling the gap with a figure from elsewhere, we mark it and say why on the tool's profile.

Can I compare more than two tools?

Not at once. Two columns keep the differences readable and force a real decision. Remove either selected tool to replace it, or clear both to start a new pair.

Every figure in the table above comes from the linked profile, where the source and the verification date are listed. Browse all tools or read the editorial policy.
