What changed when EarnBetter joined EarnIn?

The earnbetter.com FAQ says EarnBetter has joined EarnIn, and that the free resume, job matching and interview prep tools now live inside the EarnIn app as Earn Better by EarnIn. EarnIn is a financial technology company whose main products are cash access from earned wages, early pay and related banking features. The job search service is run by EarnBetter, Inc., which the Earn Better by EarnIn Terms of Service describe as a subsidiary of Activehours, Inc., doing business as EarnIn.

The web pages still list jobs by title, state and category. The job browse page read on 21 October also showed an EarnIn banner offering cash access of up to $200 a day for people who have a job. The Sign In link leads to jobs.earnin.com, and the official FAQ points new users to the app.

What does signing up for EarnIn involve?

To use Earn Better you sign up for, or sign in to, EarnIn. The Jobs Terms are incorporated into the general EarnIn Terms, which you must accept, and the EarnIn Terms of Service list eligibility rules for the services: a primary residence in the United States, a valid US mobile number and a US checking account that you own and can link to your profile. Whether the app enforces the bank link before opening only the job tools was not checked here.

If you live outside the US, or do not want to open a financial account to work on a resume, Resume Worded runs in a browser with a free account and score.

What do the resume and interview tools do?

According to the EarnIn product page, you upload a resume or start from scratch, and Earn Better reformats and rewrites it toward the jobs you are looking for. The Jobs Terms add that EarnIn scans and stores the resume, may suggest changes and extra content, and may point out skills, keywords or qualifications in a listing that your resume does not mention. They say this does not mean you are or are not qualified for a job.

The terms are clear that the AI output is a draft. Resume suggestions and cover letter drafts may contain inaccuracies, you are solely responsible for checking them before sending, and EarnIn disclaims liability for inaccurate information you submit. A resume can also be shared through a unique link, which anyone with the URL can view.

How are jobs matched, and who sees your application?

The official FAQ says matches are based on your preferences and experience, not on who paid to advertise a listing. The terms describe the ranking more broadly: relevance to search terms, profile, preferences and activity on EarnIn. EarnIn may add badges, filters and fit summaries, but the terms make no promise that they are accurate, and salary figures are estimates. EarnIn is not an employer, recruiter or staffing agency and does not verify employers or postings.

When you apply, your resume and application details go to whoever posted the listing and are then governed by that employer’s privacy policy. The tracker status is not updated by employers; you change it yourself.

What happens to your resume data?

The EarnIn Privacy Policy, effective August 6, 2026, lists what Earn Better collects: contact details, resume, job history, job search preferences including target pay, education, responses to mock interviews, device data and city-level location. EarnIn says it does not sell personal information. With consent, identifiers such as device ID, email or phone number may go to advertising networks, and EarnIn may use your information internally to present offers from third-party partners.

Under the Jobs Terms you keep ownership of your resume but grant EarnIn a licence to use, store and modify it to run and improve the service. The privacy policy also allows aggregated, de-identified data to be used to train AI models.

How could you check Earn Better before relying on it?

Proposed evaluation · not performed yet

Check what signing up asks for and whether the rewrite stays true to the original resume.

  1. Install the EarnIn app and record every field the sign-up asks for before Earn Better opens, especially bank and employer details.
  2. Upload a resume you are allowed to share and run the rewrite for one target job title.
  3. Compare each rewritten line with the original and mark any skill, number or responsibility you did not provide.
  4. Open three job matches and check whether the fit summary matches the listing text.
  5. Generate the mock interview for one of those roles and note whether the questions refer to the listing.

Accept if no bank link is required for the job tools and the rewrite adds no new facts. Reject if sign-up cannot be completed without linking a checking account or the rewrite invents experience. No result is recorded here.

Frequently asked questions

Can teenagers use Earn Better?

Yes, from age 16. The Jobs Terms allow users aged 16 or 17 if a parent or guardian reviews the terms and consents on their behalf, and that adult becomes jointly liable for the account. EarnIn does not knowingly allow users under 16. Its financial services remain limited to adults aged 18 or older, according to the privacy policy.

Is the interview cheat sheet meant for a live interview?

No. The Jobs Terms describe mock interviews and interview guides as practice only. The employer sets its own questions, which EarnIn does not know, and suggested answers are illustrative and do not reflect the employer's views. The terms also say interview support is not career counselling or professional advice.

How do I delete my Earn Better data?

Send a data deletion request to privacy@earnin.com. That closes the job search profile only; your EarnIn account and its other services stay active. Closing the whole EarnIn profile is done in the app settings, and it does not cancel debits from your bank account that you already authorised through EarnIn.

Do I have to accept arbitration?

By default, yes. The EarnIn Terms send disputes to individual binding arbitration with a class action waiver, and the Jobs Terms apply that section to the job search service. You can opt out within 30 days of first agreeing by writing to legal-notices@earnin.com or by post to EarnIn in Mountain View, California.
