Strengths and limits
Krea
Strengths
- Iterative visual work: Real-time generation can support exploration before committing to a final render.
- Usage record: The account usage view provides a place to reconcile the cost of each attempt.
- Free entry point: The Free plan includes 100 daily units, real-time models and limited upscaling, with no card required.
Limits to plan around
- Resolution is not fidelity: A larger output does not prove that small product details survived enhancement.
- API billing ambiguity: The API FAQ describes a separate dollar balance while other text mentions shared compute.
- Units do not roll over: Individual-plan units currently do not roll over, and purchased packs must be used within 90 days.
Midjourney
Strengths
- Web and Discord access: A subscription works on both midjourney.com and Discord, and settings such as speed and Stealth mode sync between them.
- Unlimited Relax generation: Standard, Pro and Mega include unlimited image generation in the slower Relax Mode, and Pro and Mega add SD video in Relax.
- Ownership of outputs: The help center says you own the images and videos you create, even after cancelling, subject to documented exceptions.
Limits to plan around
- No free trial: No free trial is available on midjourney.com or Discord; only the separate niji journey app offers a limited trial.
- Public by default: Creations can appear on the public Explore page unless you use Stealth mode, which requires Pro or Mega.
- Fast time expires: Unused monthly Fast time does not roll over, and purchased Fast hours expire after 60 days.

Comparing tools from different categories is fine, and often useful — a writing assistant and a research tool solve different halves of the same job. The table will show you exactly where they diverge.
Questions about comparing tools
How does the comparison work?
Add two tools to the comparison tray from any tool card, then open this page. The table pulls each tool's verified plan details, platforms, strengths and limits from its profile, so both columns carry the same kind of evidence, with a separate source-check date for each tool.
Do you declare a winner?
No. The table sets two tools against each other on documented facts, not on a score. Which one wins depends on your task, your budget and your usage volume — three things we cannot see from here.
Why are some cells empty or marked unverified?
Because we could not confirm that detail on the vendor's own pages. Rather than filling the gap with a figure from elsewhere, we mark it and say why on the tool's profile.
Can I compare more than two tools?
Not at once. Two columns keep the differences readable and force a real decision. Remove either selected tool to replace it, or clear both to start a new pair.
Every figure in the table above comes from the linked profile, where the source and the verification date are listed. Browse all tools or read the editorial policy.
