How many thumbnails does a plan really produce?
Every action draws on one credit balance. The pricing page lists a thumbnail at 10 to 20 credits, a thumbnail analysis at 5, a title at 1 and a Persona or Style at 50 to train. The advertised “up to 150 thumbnails a month” on Premium assumes the cheapest 10-credit thumbnail and the full 1,500-credit month.
Monthly plans do not start at the full allowance. The terms list Premium at 1,000 credits in month 1, 1,100 in month 2, 1,300 in month 3 and 1,500 from month 4; Ultimate runs from 3,000 to 4,500. Yearly plans receive the month-4 amount times 12 at once: 18,000 credits on Premium and 54,000 on Ultimate.
Is there any free way to try Pikzels?
The pricing table has only two paid plans, Premium and Ultimate, and no free tier. A Start Free Trial button appears next to each plan, but the public pages do not state how long the trial lasts, how many credits it includes or whether a card is required. Check those details on the checkout screen before entering payment information.
The refund policy matters here. All purchases are final: no refunds for monthly or yearly subscriptions or for credit top-ups. If a trial converts into a paid plan, cancel before it renews through the customer portal; access and remaining credits continue until the end of the paid cycle.
What are the rules for using a face in a Persona?
A Persona is trained from 3 photos of one person and then reused across thumbnails. The terms require that any face you upload, train or apply is your own, or that the person has given explicit consent and all necessary rights. Public figures, celebrities and anyone else without authorization are excluded, as is using a likeness to impersonate, defame or mislead.
A face is personal data, and a trained Persona can place that person in scenes they never agreed to. Train only your own face, or a collaborator’s with written permission that covers thumbnails. The privacy policy, revised in October 2024, does not say how Persona photos are stored or deleted, so ask support@pikzels.com before uploading someone else’s images.
Who carries the risk when you Recreate another thumbnail?
Recreate takes a thumbnail link or upload, extracts its layout and rebuilds it around your content. The terms describe it as building on proven formats, not copying or passing off someone else’s protected work, and put all responsibility for the source and the output on the user.
You must make sure the result does not reproduce logos, trademarks, watermarks, fonts, characters, artwork or another creator’s likeness, and you agree to indemnify Pikzels against claims. In practice, use Recreate for composition ideas such as layout, text position and color balance, then replace every face, logo and distinctive element with your own material.
Who can use the thumbnails you generate?
Thumbnails created at your request are your exclusive property under the terms. Pikzels nevertheless keeps a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide license to use those projects for marketing, research, development and other business purposes, including the right to modify and display them.
That sits awkwardly with the “All Generations Remain Private” line on the plan cards, so read the terms as the binding text. Generated files also carry embedded metadata marking them as AI-generated by Pikzels, which may not survive re-encoding. You remain responsible for any AI disclosure rules on the platforms where you publish.
What happens to credits at renewal or cancellation?
By default, unused credits reset on the renewal date, on both monthly and yearly plans. The Credit Rollover option, chosen at checkout, lets unused credits accumulate for as long as the subscription stays active. Rolled-over or purchased credits still cannot be used without an active subscription.
Cancelling and later resubscribing restarts the monthly credit schedule at month 1. Filing a chargeback leads to immediate account termination and forfeited credits, so contact support first. Additional credits can be bought at any time without changing plans, but those purchases are also non-refundable.
Can one Persona produce a usable thumbnail for your own video?
Proposed evaluation · not performed yet
On a Premium account or trial, train a Persona from 3 photos of yourself only, then create one thumbnail for a video you have published, using a text prompt rather than Recreate.
- Record the credit balance before training the Persona.
- Upload 3 clear photos of your own face and train the Persona.
- Prompt one thumbnail with a short headline and your Persona, then make one text edit.
- Download the file and check resolution, text spelling and face likeness at YouTube preview size.
- Record the credits used for training, generation and the edit.
Accept a 16:9 thumbnail whose face is recognizably yours, with correctly spelled text, where training and generation match the listed 50 and 10 to 20 credits. Reject a distorted face, misspelled headline or unexpected charges. No likeness or credit result is reported until the exercise is run.
For general image design beyond YouTube packaging, compare Canva, Adobe Firefly and Midjourney.

Worth it if
- Choose it if you publish on YouTube regularly and want to budget thumbnails in credits, since a thumbnail costs 10 to 20 credits and Premium's allowance is listed per month.
- Choose it if the face in your thumbnails is your own, because a Persona trained on 3 photos keeps it consistent across uploads.
- Choose it if you would rather pay the yearly price, since annual plans receive the full 12 months of credits at once.
Probably not if
- Skip it if you need a free plan or a clear trial, because the pricing page shows only a trial with no length, credits or card terms.
- Skip it if you want refunds as a safety net, since subscriptions and credit top-ups are final.
- Skip it if your clients need full control of outputs, because Pikzels keeps a sublicensable license to use generated projects for marketing and research.

Frequently asked questions
Is Pikzels a face-swap app?
Some third-party reviews call it face swap, but the provider's feature is Persona: you train it on 3 photos and reuse that face in thumbnails. The terms allow only your own face or someone who gave explicit consent, and forbid public figures. Applying another person's face without authorization breaks the terms and can expose you to claims.
Does Pikzels have an API?
Yes. The public API, version 2, covers creating thumbnails from text or an image, editing, scoring, generating titles and managing Personas and Styles. Thumbnail and title URLs returned by the API expire after 24 hours, so store files yourself. Version 1 was discontinued on February 17, 2026, and API pricing is shown only after logging in.
Can I buy more credits without upgrading my plan?
Yes. The homepage FAQ says extra credits can be bought at any time without changing plans. They follow the same rules as plan credits: they need an active subscription to be used, and under the refund policy one-time top-ups are non-refundable. Compare the top-up price with Ultimate before buying repeatedly.
What happens if I dispute a charge with my bank?
The terms say a chargeback or payment dispute leads to immediate account termination, without a refund for the rest of the subscription, and unused credits are forfeited. The provider asks users to email support@pikzels.com about billing problems first. Keep receipts from the customer portal in case you need to show what was charged.
How do I ask Pikzels to delete my personal data?
The privacy policy says you can update, amend or delete your information by emailing data@pikzels.com, although some data may be kept for legal reasons. The API also offers an endpoint to delete a Persona or Style by ID. Ask support to confirm that source photos behind a Persona are removed as well.

The terms, revised August 29, 2026, and the privacy policy, revised October 6, 2024, name Pikzels LLC, a Delaware company with a San Francisco mailing address. The privacy policy lists email, name and usage data but does not describe how Persona photos are stored or deleted. The pricing page shows a free trial without terms. The pricing card promises that generations remain private, while the terms grant Pikzels a sublicensable license to use them. The API menu link needs a login.
