Strengths, limits and who it suits, in full
Strengths
- Free to use for now Google states that Pomelli can currently be used at no charge, with no paid tier described on its help pages.
- One brand profile drives every output Photoshoots, campaigns, websites and Brand Books all start from the same Business Profile, which you can edit.
- Official sharing paths Assets can be sent to Google Ads or a professional Instagram account, and downloaded for other social platforms.
Limits
- Cap and price can change The help page gives only "several hundred" generations and says future changes to the caps will be posted there.
- English only and country-limited Pomelli supports English and users aged 18 and over in the countries Google lists; feature availability may differ by country.
- Product details may drift Google warns that AI can modify colors, logos or textures, so every image needs review before publishing.
Who it suits
- Small shops with product photos Photoshoot suits sellers who have plain product pictures and want studio-style variants without a photographer.
- Businesses that already have a website the fastest start is a live site Pomelli can read; sites behind captchas need the template or upload route.
- Owners who post on Instagram or run Google Ads the built-in sharing covers those two channels, while other platforms need manual downloads.
- People who need a documented commercial license the pages reviewed give no rights table, so read the Terms of Service and ask before large campaigns.
How much does Pomelli cost?

How far does it go?
- Templates against an unpublished capA Photoshoot run accepts up to 6 templates. Google publishes the cap only as "several hundred" generations and does not say how many images each template returns or whether edits, regenerations and animations count, so the number of runs before the cap cannot be calculated. Track your own count if a project needs a fixed number of assets.

Is Pomelli free, and what limit applies?
Google Labs Help says Pomelli can currently be used at no charge and that users can create several hundred image and video generations. The page adds that the Help Center will reflect any future updates to these caps. That is the whole pricing statement: no paid tier, exact number or end date is given, and the product page shows no price at all.
Treat the offer as a free experiment rather than a plan. Google itself calls Pomelli an early experiment, and the launch post described it as a public beta. For a client project, save the finished assets locally as you go, and re-read the help page before planning a long campaign.
Can you use Pomelli in your country?
Pomelli works in English only and, per Google, for users aged 18 and over in a list of countries and territories. It launched on Oct 28, 2025 in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and on Apr 21, 2026 Google extended English access to the E.U., Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and the U.K. The current help page lists many more, so check it for your own country rather than relying on either announcement.
The same page says product features may differ by country and that certain image types may not be supported. A business in a listed country can therefore still find a feature missing. Confirm the exact feature you need, such as websites or Photoshoot, after signing in with your Google account.
What does Pomelli build from your business?
Everything starts with a Business Profile: fonts, colors, values and images gathered from your site, plus a Catalog of products or services. You enter a web address and Pomelli analyzes it, which Google says can take up to eight minutes. If you have a Google Business Profile, its data is imported unless you untick the box, and later changes on either side do not sync.
With a profile in place, four outputs become available, each reached from the left menu:
- Photoshoot: choose a product image and up to 6 preset or custom templates, then generate studio or lifestyle shots, edit them with a prompt, resize them or animate them.
- Campaigns: pick a product or write a prompt, confirm the brief, then edit the header, description, call to action and layout of each creative; up to three images can be added as ingredients.
- Websites: generate, edit, preview and publish a site, add a custom URL suffix and keep several versions.
- Brand Books: a guide with your cover, up to 7 images, fonts and colors, downloadable as a PDF or published with a shareable URL.
How do finished assets leave Pomelli?
Images can be downloaded in a chosen format, and animated images can be saved as MP4 or GIF. Google Ads sharing sends an asset to your account but does not launch an ad campaign; that step is done in Google Ads. Instagram sharing needs a professional account and fixed shapes: 9:16 for a Story or Reel, and 4:5 or 1:1 for a post.
Publishing a website or Brand Book creates a link that anyone can open while the Publish switch is on. Turn it off to unpublish.
What should you review before posting AI product images?
Google says AI can sometimes modify fine details of products, such as colors, logos or textures, and recommends checking every generated image before publishing. For a shop, this means comparing each output with the real item: label text, packaging colors and product proportions are the first things to inspect.
The help page also tells users not to share copyrighted content without the necessary rights and says repeated infringement leads to account termination. Use only photos and logos you own or have permission to use.
What happens to your website content and uploads?
Under Google’s Terms of Service your content remains yours, and you give Google a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it to operate the services and build new features, including through automated analysis. The provider is Google LLC in the US version of the terms and Google Ireland Limited in the EEA and Switzerland.
The Privacy Policy describes AI-training use for products such as Gemini Apps but does not mention Pomelli, so whether Pomelli prompts, uploads or generated images are used for model training is not confirmed. Avoid uploading unreleased products, customer photos or confidential documents until Google documents that.
Can Pomelli turn one plain product photo into usable shots?
Proposed evaluation · not performed yet
With a Google account in a supported country, use a small website you own that lists three products and is not behind a captcha, plus one plain photo of a product you own with its label visible. No paid plan is needed.
- Build a Business Profile from the site address and note the minutes taken.
- Compare the extracted fonts, colors and values with the real brand and correct them in the profile.
- Run one Photoshoot with two templates on the photo.
- Zoom in on the label, logo and color of each result and compare them with the real product.
- Download one image and one animated version, and open them outside Pomelli.
Accept results that keep the label text, logo and product color faithful and download in a usable format. Reject any image that changes the label, invents text or alters the product shape. Leave the observed result blank until the exercise is run.
For a design suite with templates and a brand kit, compare Canva. For general image generation without a business profile, see Adobe Firefly. For a website as the main deliverable, see Durable. Check your country and the current cap first.
Is Pomelli worth it?
Documentation review plus dated public user reports. Documentation review, not tested hands-on. Not scored.
Worth it if
- You already run a website and want product photos and social images in your brand's look; Pomelli builds its profile from the site, so a live, readable site gets you started fastest.
- You sell physical products and have plain photos; Photoshoot restyles them with templates, which can replace a basic studio session for simple catalog shots.
- You post to Instagram or manage Google Ads; the built-in sharing covers those two channels, which saves manual exporting.
Probably not if
- You need a guaranteed number of assets for a client project; Google names no exact cap or end date for the free period, so plan around the uncertainty.
- You need exact product accuracy; Google says AI can alter colors, logos or textures, so every image needs a careful comparison with the real item.
- You work outside the listed countries or in a language other than English; support is limited to what Google lists, and features can differ by country.

Frequently asked questions
Can I sign in to Pomelli with a Google Workspace account?
Sometimes. Google says that if a Workspace account shows errors, your Google Admin can turn the service on by following its published instructions. Personal @gmail.com accounts are described as always able to use Pomelli. If you manage a company domain, ask the administrator before assuming a team login will work.
My website will not load in Pomelli. What can I try instead?
Google says sites with bot-blocking mechanisms such as captchas may not work. The help pages describe two other starting points: choose "No website yet" and use a template, or build from scratch with Pomelli Agent by uploading files. Up to 20 files are accepted, each up to 25 MB, in formats such as PDF, PNG, JPEG, DOCX and MP3.
Which photos work well for a Photoshoot?
Google recommends an image that shows the entire product clearly, contains only one product, has adequate lighting and includes no additional graphics. Busy scenes or several items in one frame are therefore a poor input. Photoshoot then applies your Business Profile to templates, so a clean source photo also makes it easier to spot changes to the product.
Can generated images be marked as AI-made?
Yes. Google says you can opt in, in Account Settings, to add a watermark to exported images so viewers know they were generated with AI. Its Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy separately bars misrepresenting generated content as made solely by a human in order to deceive. Decide your labelling approach before publishing a large batch of images.
Can several Pomelli accounts post to one Instagram account?
No. Google requires a one-to-one connection between a Pomelli account and an Instagram profile, and only professional Instagram accounts can be connected. It also reserves the right to take down connections, assets or websites that violate its terms or show abusive behavior. Agencies managing several brands should plan one Pomelli account per Instagram profile.

The Google Labs Help pages are treated as current. The launch post of Oct 28, 2025 named the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand; the Apr 21, 2026 post added the E.U., Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and the U.K.; the help page now lists a much longer set of countries and territories, so that list is used. The Terms of Service (effective July 30, 2026) name Google LLC as provider in the US version and Google Ireland Limited in the EEA and Switzerland; the pages reviewed do not mention Pomelli by name, and no Pomelli-specific data-use terms were found. The product page carries no plan or price text. Unofficial sites using the Pomelli name were not used.
