Strengths, limits and who it suits, in full

Strengths

  • Commercial licence from Pro The pricing page lists a commercial-use licence for Pro, Advanced and Enterprise, and personal use only for Trial and Lite.
  • API on every plan The pricing page lists API access from Trial upward, with minutes taken from the same balance as the web app.
  • Many output languages The pricing page lists 30+ output languages on every plan.
  • Cancel in the account The FAQ says cancelling is under Billing, and the plan stays active to the end of the billing period.
  • Synthetic-media commitments are published The ethics pledge describes consent, watermarking and misuse commitments.

Limits

  • No free plan The only no-cost option is a 14-day trial with 3 minutes and a full-screen watermark.
  • Minutes run out each month Lite includes 10 minutes and Pro 15 minutes a month, and unused minutes expire; Advanced includes 100.
  • Lower plans are watermarked Lite shows a D-ID watermark and Pro an AI watermark; the custom logo option starts at Advanced.
  • Highest-quality avatars are not on self-serve plans The Studio Avatar row is an add-on on Enterprise only and not included on Trial to Advanced.
  • Legal terms could not be read The terms-of-use address we tried returned a not-found page, so rights beyond the pricing-page licence rows are unverified.

Who it suits

  • Teams making training or explainer clips The homepage targets training, marketing, sales and support videos.
  • Developers who need a talking-head API The API page describes generating video from an image plus text or audio.
  • People who need a commercial licence It starts on Pro, per the pricing page.
  • Not for long daily output on a small plan Lite and Pro include 10 and 15 minutes a month.
  • Not for animating someone's face without their consent The ethics pledge expects customers to obtain third-party consent where required.

How much does D-ID cost?

Prices confirmed · checked

Regional prices: Prices are from the pricing page on 2026-10-17 and are shown in US dollars.

Each paid card shows a per-month figure next to an annual total (for example $191 billed annually for Pro), so the per-month figure appears to be the annual-billing equivalent; the price for paying month to month was not in the text we read and is not stated here. The first-month unlimited-videos offer carries a footnote whose text we could not read, so its conditions are unknown. Sources disagree on video length: the pricing table says up to 30 minutes on every plan, while older help text on the homepage says Creative Reality Studio and the API are limited to 5 minutes; we did not resolve this. The same help text says Lite does not support premium presenters. Taxes and non-USD prices were not shown.

How far does it go?

  • What the included minutes cover on ProPro includes 15 minutes a month, $191 billed annually. Because each video is rounded up to the next 15 seconds, a 1-minute-10-second video uses 1 minute 15 seconds, so 15 minutes covers 12 such videos. Lite's 10 minutes covers 8 at $56 billed annually. Minutes also cover agents, translation and API calls, and unused ones expire each month. If you need more than 15 minutes of video in a month, Advanced is the next listed plan at $1,293 billed annually for 100 minutes.

Agentic videos: an AI agent embedded in a video that answers viewer questions (pricing page)—

Minutes are the unit you pay forEach plan includes a monthly pool of minutes shared by videos, agents, video translation and API use, and a video is rounded up to the next 15 seconds, so a 1-minute-10-second video uses 1 minute 15 seconds.Unused minutes do not carry over to the next month, per the pricing FAQ, and the pool is small on lower plans: 10 on Lite and 15 on Pro.

What does a D-ID plan include?

The pricing page sets a monthly pool of minutes per plan, shared by videos, agents, translation and API use, and ties the licence to the plan: personal use on Trial and Lite, commercial use from Pro. Check the watermark row before publishing anything.

Which rights are unclear?

The homepage help text and the pricing table give different maximum video lengths, and the terms-of-use address we tried returned a not-found page. The ethics pledge says customers should obtain third-party consent where required; it is a pledge, not the terms of service.

How could you check D-ID before paying?

Proposed evaluation · not performed yet

Use the trial with a script you would really publish.

  1. Render the same 30-second script with one stock avatar and one photo avatar, and note which lip-sync you would put in front of customers.
  2. Check how many of the 3 trial minutes that clip used, remembering that length is rounded up to 15 seconds.
  3. Decide whether a watermark is acceptable; if not, compare the Advanced custom-logo option against your monthly minutes.

How much does D-ID cost for commercial use?

The commercial-use licence starts on Pro, shown as $16 a month, $191 billed annually, with 15 minutes a month. Advanced is $1,293 billed annually for 100 minutes. We did not find a month-to-month price.

Is D-ID Creative Reality Studio the same as D-ID?

Official D-ID pages read on 2026-10-17: homepage, pricing page with its FAQ, API page and ethics pledge. The pricing page was read through a proxy because direct access is bot-protected. We did not create an account, make a video, test avatar quality, voices, lip-sync or the API. Gaps: the terms-of-use address returned a not-found page, the monthly-billing prices, the footnote to the first-month unlimited-videos offer, the maximum video length conflict, and regional prices and taxes. Customer testimonials on the homepage were not used as evidence. Directory listings and third-party reviews were not used.
