Pros
- Commercial use on free output
- Fine control with SSML
- Fair character counting
Cons
- Small free AI allowance

Bottom line
Regular Voices up to about 3,000 characters (about 375 words) a day; AI Voices up to about 1,000 characters (about 125 words) a day; MP3 download; ads shown.
You need short voice lines for slides, videos or announcements: the free Polly allowance resets every day, and the FAQ lets you use the MP3s commercially without credit.
You mainly want the OpenAI AI Voices without paying: their free allowance is about 1,000 characters, roughly 125 words, a day.

Strengths, limits and who it suits, in full
Strengths
- Commercial use on free output The FAQ allows free and paid MP3s in commercial projects without crediting TTSMP3.
- Fine control with SSML Regular Voices take standard Amazon Polly tags for pauses, emphasis, rate, pitch and whispering.
- Fair character counting Failed conversions and replays of the same audio do not reduce a paid character balance.
Limits
- Small free AI allowance AI Voices stop at about 125 words a day on the free converter.
- API only on the yearly pass Monthly and 24-hour buyers get no API key, and yearly buyers must request one by email.
- Thin legal pages The terms show an incomplete update date and neither the terms nor the purchase FAQ state a refund policy.
Who it suits
- People who need a few short clips a week the free Polly limit covers announcements, slide narration or short video lines without an account.
- Anyone with one long script and a deadline the €5.00 24-hour pass fits better than a subscription when the whole job can be converted in one day.
- Developers adding simple speech to an app only the yearly pass includes the API, so price that pass rather than the monthly one.
- Creators who need their own or a cloned voice not a fit; voices come from Amazon Polly and OpenAI, and the voice models cannot be downloaded or added on request.
How much does TTSMP3 cost?
Prices confirmed · checked
Regional prices: Prices are shown in euros on the premium access page, written with a decimal comma (for example € 90,83); no other currency was offered to our Germany-based server, and the page does not say whether VAT is included.
Payments run through FastSpring, and payment methods vary by country. Subscriptions can be cancelled by email or on the FastSpring site, with access kept until the paid period ends. The page lists 60 premium voices in 28 languages, which matches the Regular Voices; whether a pass also raises the AI Voices limit is not stated. No refund policy is published.

How far does it go?
- Yearly pass versus twelve monthly paymentsMonthly: 12 x €9.17 = €110.04 for 12 x 1,000,000 = 12,000,000 characters. Yearly: €90.83 for 10,000,000 characters. The yearly pass costs €19.21 less but carries 2,000,000 fewer characters: about €9.08 per million versus €9.17 per million. Assumes each monthly payment renews the 1,000,000-character balance, as the page states.

|---|---|---|
| 60 Regular Voices across 28 languages and accents, powered by Amazon Polly | Sixty Amazon Polly voices read text in 28 languages and accents, with SSML tags for breaks, emphasis, speed, pitch and whispering, and [speaker:Name] tags to switch voices mid-text. | Free input stops at 3,000 characters a day, speaker names must be typed without diacritics, and one broken tag can fail the whole conversion. |
| Nine AI Voices powered by OpenAI Text-To-Speech with automatic language detection | Nine OpenAI voices detect the language automatically across 57 listed languages and accept written instructions for identity, affect, tone and emotion, plus pauses of 1 to 60 whole seconds. | The free cap is only 1,000 characters a day, and pitch or tone cannot be set directly as with Regular Voices. |

| HTTP API that returns a link to the generated MP3 | A GET or POST call with an API key, speaker and text returns a status code, the characters used, the remaining quota and a URL to the MP3 on the TTSMP3 server. | Only the yearly pass includes it, the key is sent after an email request, and a request that would exceed the quota is refused with status 320. |
How far do the two free daily limits go?
TTSMP3 runs two converters with separate daily allowances. The Regular Voices page, labelled Powered by AWS Polly, accepts about 3,000 characters or 375 words a day, which is also the most you can paste into one conversion. The AI Voices page, labelled Powered by OpenAI Text-To-Speech, stops at about 1,000 characters or 125 words a day and shows a counter of what you have used.
Because the site counts characters rather than words, markup counts too. A dialogue with pause and emphasis tags uses part of the allowance on tags that are never spoken, so strip unneeded tags from long scripts before converting.
Which pass fits a one-off project, and which fits regular use?
The three paid options are sold in euros. The €5.00 pass gives 1,000,000 characters that must be used within 24 hours and does not renew. The monthly plan at €9.17 gives 1,000,000 characters each month, and the yearly plan at €90.83 gives 10,000,000 characters for the year and is the only one that includes the API.
Editorial assessment
A 60,000-character course script would take 20 days of free Polly allowance, but a single 24-hour pass covers it if the script is final before you buy. Choose the monthly plan when new narration arrives every week, and the yearly pass only if you need the API or expect to use most of the 10 million characters; per million characters it costs almost the same as paying monthly.
What changes between Amazon Polly voices and AI Voices?
The two voice sets are controlled differently. Regular Voices read 28 languages and accents with a fixed speaker per language, and take SSML tags for pauses, emphasis, speaking rate, pitch and whispering. AI Voices offer nine voices such as Alloy, Nova and Onyx, detect the language on their own from a list of 57, and take a written instruction describing identity, affect, tone, emotion and pronunciation.
AI Voices cannot change pitch or tone on demand; the model infers inflection from punctuation and context. The FAQ says neither voice set can be downloaded for offline use, and new languages or accents depend on what Amazon and OpenAI release rather than on TTSMP3.
How do you script pauses, emphasis and a two-person dialogue?
Regular Voices accept Amazon Polly SSML, so you can insert breaks, emphasis, rate and pitch changes, and a whispered effect directly in the text box. To switch speakers inside one conversion, start each line with a tag such as [speaker:Brian] or [speaker:Emma], which renders a short conversation in one MP3.
Two details decide whether a conversion succeeds:
- Speaker names in dialogue tags must be typed without accent marks, as the converter page instructs for the French and Spanish voice names.
- Every SSML tag must be closed, and stray < or > characters in ordinary text are read as broken tags and make the conversion fail.
When do you get API access, and what does it return?
API access comes only with the yearly pass. After buying, you email TTSMP3 for a key; the documentation then describes a GET or POST request to api.ttsmp3.com with the key, a speaker name and the text. A successful response includes the characters used, the remaining quota and a URL to the MP3 file on the TTSMP3 server.
Repeating a text that was already synthesized returns the cached file without deducting characters, and a request that would exceed the quota is refused with status 320 instead of converting part of the text. The documented speaker list is the Regular Voices set; the documentation does not describe AI Voices in the API.
Who runs TTSMP3, and what do its terms leave open?
The terms name EPSILON WEBCRAFTS LLC as operator and Kentucky, USA as governing law, but they show an update line without a month and say nothing about refunds, voice rights or how long generated files are kept. The purchase FAQ covers cancellation, but refunds are not addressed. The free converter shows ads and asks for consent to share device data with 210 advertising partners; paid access removes ads.
The FAQ is clearer on rights than the terms: MP3s from both free and paid use may go into commercial and non-commercial projects, including YouTube videos, apps and e-learning, without crediting TTSMP3. Keep a copy of the FAQ page with your project records, because the terms themselves do not repeat that licence.
Can the free Polly limit produce a clean two-voice dialogue?
Proposed evaluation · not performed yet
On the free Regular Voices converter, convert a 2,800-character dialogue between two speakers that you wrote yourself. It includes two product names, one date, one price in euros, two 1-second breaks and one emphasised phrase.
- Write the dialogue with [speaker:Brian] and [speaker:Amy] tags and close every SSML tag.
- Convert it once, note the date, the voice pair and the characters counted, and download the MP3.
- Listen for the speaker switches, both breaks, the emphasis and the pronunciation of the names, date and price.
- Repeat the same text with one AI Voice using a short tone instruction and compare the pronunciation of the same items.
Accept the result if every speaker switch and break lands in place and the names, date and price are read correctly. Reject it if a tag is spoken aloud, the conversion fails on markup or a name is mispronounced in both voice sets. No audio result is reported until the conversion is actually run.
If a free weekly quota suits your volume better than a daily one, compare TTSMaker; for longer studio-style voiceovers synced to video, see Murf.
Is TTSMP3 worth it?
Documentation review plus dated public user reports. Documentation review, not tested hands-on. Not scored.
Worth it if
- You need short voice lines for slides, videos or announcements: the free Polly allowance resets every day, and the FAQ lets you use the MP3s commercially without credit.
- You have one finished long script to voice: the €5.00 pass gives 1,000,000 characters for 24 hours and does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel afterwards.
- You want control over pacing or a two-voice dialogue: Regular Voices accept SSML tags and speaker tags that switch voices inside one MP3.
Probably not if
- You mainly want the OpenAI AI Voices without paying: their free allowance is about 1,000 characters, roughly 125 words, a day.
- You need API access on a monthly budget: only the €90.83 yearly pass includes it, and the key has to be requested by email.
- You need your own or a cloned voice, or a written refund policy: voices come only from Amazon Polly and OpenAI, and no refund policy is published.

Frequently asked questions
Does a failed conversion or a replay use up my characters?
No. The purchase FAQ says characters are deducted only when a conversion succeeds, so an error leaves the balance intact. Replaying audio you have already converted is free, and the API documentation adds that re-sending a text that was already synthesized returns the cached MP3 without a deduction.
I bought a pass but never got my login details. What now?
The FAQ says login details appear on screen right after purchase and are also emailed. Check the spam or junk folder first, then contact support with the purchase email address. The FAQ states that the paid period is not lost because a login email went missing.
Can I get an invoice with a VAT ID for a company purchase?
Yes. The FAQ asks you to email support with the details for the invoice, normally your full billing address. Buyers in the European Union purchasing for a company should include their VAT ID. The pricing page itself does not say whether the euro prices include VAT.
Why is my text read with the wrong accent or language?
On Regular Voices the language comes from the speaker you pick, so choosing a British English voice for Spanish text gives an English reading. AI Voices detect the language automatically, but only for the 57 languages on their list, so check that yours is listed before converting a long text.
Does TTSMP3 also turn audio into text?
No. Speech to text is offered on a sister site, ConvertSpeech.com, which the TTSMP3 footer promotes as free to try. It is a separate site, and the TTSMP3 premium page describes its passes only in text-to-speech characters, so do not assume a TTSMP3 pass covers transcription there.

The premium page showed € 90,83 for the yearly pass on September 29, 2026; an earlier note recorded € 90,00, so the current figure is used. The terms read "Last updated: Tuesday 22, 2025", which has no month, so no update date is given here; they name EPSILON WEBCRAFTS LLC as operator and Kentucky law as governing law but do not state where the company is registered. The privacy policy is undated. Regular Voices are labelled Powered by AWS Polly and AI Voices Powered by OpenAI Text-To-Speech on the converters. The site styles its name ttsMP3. ConvertSpeech, promoted in the footer, is a separate speech-to-text site and is not covered here.
