- Some tools cost nothing
- Read-only AI connector
Cons
- No free plan, card for the trial
- Sales are estimates

You want to try the product without a payment method, because there is no free plan and the 14-day trial asks for a card and bills automatically when it ends.

How far does it go?
- Package against three Growth monthsThree months of Growth at the monthly rate: 3 × $1,000 = $3,000. The one-time package lists 3 months for $1,800, so $3,000 − $1,800 = $1,200 less, which matches the 40% label (1,200 ÷ 3,000 = 0.4). Adding seats: Essential with 3 extra users is $500 + 3 × $60 = $680 a month before tax.

Is there a free way to see Particl data, and what does the trial require?
Public company pages on particl.com show a short summary for a tracked brand without an account: the product type, the date tracking began, the data types held and a headline of estimated e-commerce revenue for recent months. That is enough to check whether a competitor is covered before starting a trial, but it does not include SKU tables, filters or exports.
The 14-day trial needs a credit card or other payment method, which the pricing FAQ says is used to verify identity. Billing starts the day after the trial ends unless you cancel first. The terms also say some features may be limited during the trial and that you may be limited to one trial per service.
Which plan covers more than 3 months of history?
The history window is the clearest difference between tiers. Starter shows 3 months, which is too short to compare one holiday season with the last. Essential extends it to 6 months and Growth to 12. Custom contracts list 12 to 48 months, and the sales team mentions unlimited history as a higher-end option.
The window on your plan is separate from how long Particl has tracked a company. A public company page can show data going back years, while your plan still limits what you can query. Check both before promising a year-on-year analysis.
What is a Signature Competitor, and why does it push you to Growth?
The pricing FAQ describes Signature Competitors as brands with roughly $100 million in annual revenue, a high growth rate or heavy tracking across Particl users. Sales data for these brands is available only on Growth and Custom; lower plans see limited data for them.
If the brands you benchmark are large household names, confirm whether they fall into this group during the trial. A Starter or Essential plan may cover the pricing and assortment of a large rival while leaving out the sales view that most teams buy Particl for.
How do competitors, views and export credits limit daily use?
Three meters apply at once. Competitors are brands added to your account; they do not count against views and are the only brands usable in custom dashboards and Product Research. Views are counted each time a user opens a new selection of company, product or market data, and Starter caps them at 200 per user. Export credits cover downloads and the MCP connector.
The MCP tools reference prices each call. Searching companies, browsing product types and checking the credit balance are free. Listing a company’s products, product variants, market top products or marketing assets costs 1 credit per row, and a sales time series costs 1 credit per data point. A long product list can therefore use hundreds of credits in one question.
- Starter: 1,000 export credits, 5 competitors, 200 views per user.
- Essential: 5,000 credits, 10 competitors, unlimited views, CSV report exports.
- Growth: 10,000 credits, 10 competitors, Signature sales data.
How much weight can you put on the sales figures?
Particl’s own connector documentation describes its sales data as estimates, alongside observed catalog, pricing and marketing data. The terms say Particl uses commercially reasonable efforts to provide accurate data but cannot guarantee its accuracy, and they disclaim responsibility for its completeness or timeliness.
Treat revenue and unit figures as directional signals for ranking products and spotting launches, not as audited sales. Where you have your own sales for a product that also appears in Particl, compare the two before relying on estimates for a competitor.
What does the AI connector send, and what does Particl keep?
The MCP connector is a hosted, read-only server. Particl says it returns market data to your AI tool and cannot read your chats, prompts, files, store or ad accounts. It records which tool was called, the number of results, the credit cost and the search parameters you passed. Setup requires a plan with export credits, and in ChatGPT it needs a Pro, Team, Enterprise or Edu plan.
The privacy policy, version 2 effective February 26, 2026, says MCP usage records, tool-call logs and transport logs are kept indefinitely. Search parameters such as a planned product type or a competitor name therefore stay in Particl’s logs. Keep unreleased product names out of connector queries if that matters.
What do renewal and cancellation terms commit you to?
The terms renew a subscription automatically for the same term at the then-current price, and payments are non-refundable with no credit for partial periods. They require cancellation 30 days before the next renewal term, by email to billing, through the account manager or through the billing portal. The pricing FAQ, by contrast, says you can cancel at any time in the app.
Until Particl aligns the two, set a reminder more than 30 days before renewal and keep the written confirmation. The terms also let Particl use your company name and logo to identify you as a customer, which some brands prefer to opt out of in the order form.
Can the trial answer a 3-month pricing question for five competitors?
Proposed evaluation · not performed yet
On a Starter trial, add five competitors in one product type, such as women’s running shorts, and ask how their average selling price and discount depth changed over the last 3 months. Stop if the brands you need are Signature Competitors, because their sales view needs Growth.
- Record the plan, trial start date and starting export-credit balance.
- Add the five brands as competitors so browsing does not spend views.
- Filter to the product type and export the price and discount history.
- Check three products by hand against the brands’ own current product pages.
- Record the credits and views used, then cancel before the trial ends if the result is not useful.
Accept an export that lists current prices matching the brand sites and a discount history covering the full 3 months. Reject missing brands, gaps in the window or credit use that would exhaust 1,000 credits in a normal month. No result is reported until the exercise is run.
To clean or analyse an exported CSV with plain-language instructions, see RowSpeak. The connector works inside Claude and ChatGPT, whose own plan limits apply to the chat side.
Is Particl worth it?
Documentation review plus dated public user reports. Documentation review, not tested hands-on. Not scored.
Worth it if
- You plan launches and markdowns around a known set of competitor brands and need more than 3 months of history, because Essential extends the window to 6 months and Growth to 12.
- You already work in Claude or ChatGPT and can budget export credits, since the MCP connector draws on the plan's credits for most tool calls.
- The brands you benchmark are large or fast-growing, as their Signature sales data is included only on Growth and Custom.
Probably not if
- You want to try the product without a payment method, because there is no free plan and the 14-day trial asks for a card and bills automatically when it ends.
- You need audited sales numbers, since the documentation calls the sales figures estimates and the terms disclaim accuracy.
- You want to leave easily mid-term, because the terms require cancellation 30 days before renewal and rule out refunds for partial periods.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the same Particl as the PART cryptocurrency?
No. Searches for the name also return Particl, an open-source privacy blockchain and marketplace at particl.io with its own PART coin. The ecommerce intelligence platform described here lives at particl.com and is operated by Luz Data, Inc. Check the domain before signing up or reading price pages, because the two share only the name.
Can I add more users without moving to a higher plan?
Yes, within limits. Starter allows up to 2 extra users at $40 a month each, Essential up to 5 at $60 and Growth up to 10 at $80. Beyond those caps a Custom contract is needed. The terms let you share an account with employees or contractors, but you remain responsible for what they do.
Does Particl offer an API or bulk data export?
Bulk exports, API access and data licensing are listed only on the Custom plan. The terms say API access may carry additional fees and limits the data to internal business purposes. The MCP connector uses an API key too, but it is a separate hosted tool that draws on the plan's export credits.
Can I connect my own Shopify store data?
The terms describe an optional data integration for your own product data, including Shopify. You keep ownership, and Particl says it will not sell that data, but it may analyse it and use it on an aggregated, de-identified basis, with a perpetual license for anonymised product improvement. Decide whether that suits you before connecting.
Can we pay by invoice instead of card?
Invoicing is listed on the Custom plan, and sales-assisted orders follow the payment terms in the order form. Self-service plans are charged to a stored card, debit card or ACH debit in US dollars. The terms allow a late charge of 1.5% a month on overdue amounts and suspension after 30 days.
