Key features
| Feature | What it does | Watch out |
|---|---|---|
| Text and image to 3D model generation | Generates textured, game-ready meshes from a prompt or reference image, unlimited on paid plans. | Guest gets 1 generation a day and cannot export its own generations. |

| Credit features | Motion from video or text, multi-image to 3D, split to parts, image to scene and 500K-poly ultra generations draw on monthly credits. | Plus includes 50 credits, enough for about one motion clip at 30 credits. |
| Engine plugins | Sends models from the web app straight into Unity, Unreal, Godot, Maya, Blender or Roblox Studio scenes. | Plugins need a paid plan, and generation still happens in the web app. |
What can you export on the free Guest plan?
Guest allows 1 AI 3D generation a day from text or an image, unlimited customization of the parametric templates in the browser, and downloads of community models. The plan table limits exports to community models only, so a Guest generation works as a preview of quality, not as an asset you can take into a project.
Everything on Guest carries a personal-use license. The terms describe the free tier as the Starter Plan, with access to most features and community downloads, while the pricing page calls it Guest; the limits above come from the current pricing page.
Do you need Plus or Pro to sell a game that uses Sloyd models?
For a game you publish yourself, Plus is enough: the license table includes commercial use, and the FAQ says paid plans let you use generated models in commercial games, products and content without royalties. The terms grant a perpetual, non-exclusive right to use models within your creations and allow retexturing and modification.
Pro is needed when the model itself is the product. Redistribution and reselling in a marketplace, asset store or stock library are allowed only on Pro, although freelancers may deliver work that includes Sloyd models directly to a client. Using the models to train AI is not allowed on Guest or Plus; on Pro the table says to contact Sloyd.
Editorial assessment
A solo developer building one game fits Plus, while anyone publishing asset packs needs Pro from the first sale. Keep a record of the plan active when each model was generated.
What does unlimited leave out?
Unlimited on Plus and Pro covers text and image to 3D, rigging and animation, image creation and editing, retexturing with 4K textures and skybox generation. The FAQ adds that fair-use limits, queue priority and plan-specific capacity still apply, and Plus runs 2 generations in parallel against 5 on Pro.
Other features draw on a monthly credit allowance: 50 on Plus and 350 on Pro. The plan table lists their costs as follows.
- Text or video to animation: 30 credits.
- Image to scene: 30 credits.
- Multi-image to 3D and split to parts: 20 credits each.
- Ultra high generations at 500K triangles: 5 credits.
Can you 3D print Sloyd models and sell the prints?
Not under the standard plans. The terms allow 3D printing for personal use only and ask anyone printing commercially to contact support@sloyd.ai for a custom license. That applies even on Pro, whose resale right covers digital redistribution in marketplaces rather than physical products.
The plan table lists plugins for print slicers and the site has a 3D printing use-case page, so the tooling exists; the license is the separate step. Get the custom license in writing before listing printed figures, props or miniatures for sale.
How do the plugins and the API fit with a plan?
The plugins page offers free downloads for Roblox, Blender, Godot, Maya, Unity and Unreal. Models are still generated in the Sloyd web app and then sent to the open scene with an export button, as FBX, GLB or OBJ, with a quads option for editing in Maya, Blender, 3ds Max or Cinema 4D. The plan table ties plugin access to Plus and Pro.
The API is separate from the web app subscription. It runs on prepaid credits at 75 credits per US dollar, with a minimum first purchase of $12 for 900 credits. A basic 3D generation costs 10 credits, texturing adds 10 and a text prompt adds 5, so pipeline costs are counted per model.
Who runs Sloyd, and how long are your models kept?
The terms, updated February 16, 2026, are an agreement with Sloyd Inc., registered in the US and governed by US law. The privacy policy, updated September 28, 2026, names Sloyd AS, operating under GDPR and Norwegian data protection law, as the controller of personal data, and describes transfers outside the EU and EEA under safeguards.
Stored projects and models are not guaranteed to be kept indefinitely: the terms allow deletion after prolonged inactivity or for capacity reasons, with reasonable efforts to email first. Export finished models to your own storage. Reference images that contain third-party copyrighted content may not be uploaded.
Can the Guest plan produce a usable game prop before you pay?
Proposed evaluation · not performed yet
On a free Guest account, customize one parametric template, such as a crate or barrel, and use the single daily AI generation on a text prompt for a matching low-poly prop. Buy nothing during the exercise.
- Record the date and the prompt used.
- Customize the template and try a GLB export.
- Generate the AI prop and inspect it in the 3D preview.
- Try to export the AI prop and note what the plan allows.
- Open any exported GLB in Blender and check scale, polycount and textures.
Accept a template export that opens cleanly and an AI preview good enough to judge. If the AI prop cannot be exported on Guest, record that as the result rather than upgrading. Leave the observed result blank until the exercise is run.
To generate the 2D concept art first, compare Leonardo.Ai and Midjourney. For turning a single photo into a moving 3D parallax clip rather than a mesh, see Immersity AI.
Is Sloyd worth it?
Documentation review plus dated public user reports. Documentation review, not tested hands-on. Not scored.
Worth it if
- You are an indie developer shipping your own game: Plus at $15 a month includes commercial use of generated props and characters.
- You want to judge output quality first: Guest gives one AI generation a day to preview before paying anything.
- You sell asset packs: Pro is the only plan whose license allows marketplace and stock-site resale.
Probably not if
- You plan to sell 3D prints: the terms limit printing to personal use, so commercial printing needs a separate custom license.
- You need to export your own Guest generations: the free plan only downloads community models.
- You expect the subscription to cover automation: the API is billed separately on prepaid credits.

Frequently asked questions
Is API access included with a Plus or Pro subscription?
No. The pricing FAQ says the web app subscription and the API are separate. The API needs no subscription and runs on prepaid credits billed on their own, starting with a $12 purchase for 900 credits. Budget API usage separately from the plan if you plan to automate generation in a pipeline.
What happens to commercial rights if I cancel?
The pricing FAQ says the plan stays active until the billing period ends, and the account then returns to the free plan, where paid features, higher limits and commercial-license benefits stop applying to new work. Keep dated records of what you generated while subscribed in case a buyer asks.
Which file formats and engines does Sloyd support?
The FAQ lists GLB, OBJ and FBX exports that open in Unity, Unreal, Godot, Roblox Studio, Blender and other content tools. Models can be exported with quads instead of the default triangles, which helps when you plan to edit topology by hand in Maya, Blender, 3ds Max or Cinema 4D.
Can I get a refund on a Sloyd subscription?
Only in limited cases. The terms call payments generally non-refundable and ask anyone claiming a technical issue or accidental purchase to email support within 14 days of the charge. Requests are reviewed one by one, and any refund takes into account how many models were generated during the period.
Can a studio pay by invoice instead of card?
The pricing FAQ says all major credit and debit cards are accepted and that annual contracts can be invoiced on request. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle under the terms, so studios should agree renewal and cancellation dates in writing when moving to an invoiced annual contract.
