How far does it go?
- Audio on the free allowanceThe FAQ equates 500,000 credits with about 10 hours of audio, so 1 hour ≈ 50,000 credits. Free: 25,000 ÷ 50,000 = about 30 minutes a month with 1-credit voices, or 25,000 ÷ 4 ÷ 50,000 × 60 = about 7.5 minutes with 4-credit ProPlus Expressive voices. At 250 characters per conversion, 25,000 credits take at least 100 separate conversions. These are provider estimates, not measured output.

Key features
| Feature | What it does | Watch out |
|---|---|---|
| Text to speech across 140+ languages and several voice models | Transcribes audio in 90+ languages with SRT export at 10 credits per second, and converts one voice into another at 100 credits per second. | One minute of speech to speech uses 6,000 credits, so voice conversion drains a Starter allowance far faster than text to speech. |
| Voice cloning from recordings of consenting speakers on paid plans | Trains a Cloning Voice from recordings of a Consenting Speaker, from 5 clones on Starter to 50 on Business. | The terms forbid cloning or imitating a real person without explicit consent, and each speaker must have agreed to the recording use. |
| Speech to speech for voice conversion and redubbing | — | |
| Speech to text in 90+ languages with SRT export | — | |
| SSML support and a pronunciation editor (Creator and above) | — | |
| Downloads in MP3, OGG, WAV, OPUS, AAC and telephony formats | — | |
| Pay-as-you-go REST API on a separate developer platform | — | |
| Credits per voice model | Default, ProV1 and FlashX voices cost 1 credit per character, ProV2 and ProPlus Turbo 2, and ProPlus Expressive 4; Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters count double. | Credits are charged on every Convert for all text in the box, so re-converting a long script after a small edit is charged again. |
Can the free plan voice a monetized YouTube channel?
Not under the current terms. Free and trial use is limited to personal, internal evaluation or non-commercial use, and the terms define commercial use as any business-related application that brings direct or indirect financial gain. A monetized channel falls on the commercial side, so narration for it needs a paid plan, starting with Starter.
Free is still useful for choosing a voice. It gives 25k credits a month but only 250 characters per conversion, about two short sentences, and access to selected voices rather than the full library. The FAQ still describes an older 7-day trial with 3 conversions and 500 characters, so check the plan shown in your account after signing up.
How are credits charged for each voice?
Credits are one balance for every tool, but the rate depends on the voice model. They are charged each time you click Convert, for all the text in the box, not when you download. Editing one word and converting a 3,000-character block again charges the full block a second time.
- 1 credit per character: default voices (AI1 to AI6, HashCode), ProV1 and FlashX.
- 2 credits per character: ProV2 and ProPlus Turbo voices.
- 4 credits per character: ProPlus Expressive and High-Res voices.
- 10 credits per second for speech to text and 100 credits per second for speech to speech.
- Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters count as 2 credits each.
How much audio does each paid plan produce?
The FAQ puts 500,000 credits at about 10 hours of audio, which is roughly 50,000 credits per hour with 1-credit voices. On that basis Starter’s 200k monthly credits give about 4 hours, Creator’s 400k about 8 hours and Pro’s 1m about 20 hours. With 4-credit ProPlus Expressive voices, divide each figure by four.
The per-conversion limit matters as much as the total. Starter converts 3,000 characters at a time, Creator 5,000 and Pro 10,000, so a 10-minute script of roughly 8,000 characters (10 ÷ 60 × 50,000 ≈ 8,300 at 1 credit per character) needs three conversions on Starter and one on Pro. Pronunciation fixes and file sharing start at Creator.
What happens to credits and audio when a plan ends?
Monthly plans get a fresh allotment each cycle. Yearly Starter, Creator and Pro plans receive the whole year of credits upfront, while yearly Teams and Business plans receive a monthly share. Rollover is limited: Pro monthly carries unused credits for one cycle, Teams and Business for up to three months, and Starter, Creator and Pro yearly not at all.
When a plan expires without renewing, paid features stop and all unused credits, including carried-over ones, are cleared. Audio you generated during an active paid subscription can still be used commercially afterwards, according to the terms. Download finished files before the end date, because the license to the service itself ends with the subscription.
Whose voice can you clone?
Voice cloning starts on Starter with 5 clones and rises to 50 on Business. Each Cloning Voice must be trained on recordings of a Consenting Speaker, and the terms forbid cloning, imitating or impersonating a real person without that person’s explicit consent, or presenting output as a real performance by someone who has not agreed.
The pricing page also advertises a coming ProVocals feature that would make singing sound like famous singers. It was marked as coming soon and could not be assessed. Whatever the feature, imitating a real singer or speaker needs that person’s permission under the same terms; record a written consent that names Voicemaker and the intended uses before uploading anyone else’s voice.
What does a refund look like if the first plan is wrong?
Refunds cover first-time purchases only, requested within 5 days, and not renewals, upgrades or packs older than 5 days. The amount depends on credits used: a full refund at 0 credits, then deductions of $2, $4, $6 or $8 up to 200,000 credits, and nothing above that. Requests go to support@voicemaker.in.
An upgrade path exists as well. If you have used fewer than 10,000 credits and move from Starter to a higher plan within 48 hours, the Starter price is credited toward the new plan. Card payments through Stripe renew automatically until auto-pay is switched off; PayPal and RazorPay plans simply expire.
Can one voice read a 1,000-character script cleanly before you pay?
Proposed evaluation · not performed yet
On the Free plan, as internal evaluation only, convert a 1,000-character script you wrote that contains a product name, a number with units and one abbreviation. Because Free converts 250 characters at a time, split it into four parts. Compare one default voice at 1 credit per character with one 2-credit voice.
- Record the credit balance and the voice names before starting.
- Convert each of the four parts with the default voice and download the files.
- Repeat with the 2-credit voice and note the credits used.
- Listen for mispronounced names, numbers and the abbreviation, and for audible joins between parts.
- Record whether a pronunciation fix would need the Creator plan.
Accept a voice whose four parts join smoothly and read all three tricky items correctly within the expected credit cost. Reject it if the product name needs the pronunciation editor that Free lacks. Publishing the result commercially needs a paid plan as a separate step; no audio quality result is reported until the test is run.
For a free web route that allows commercial use, compare TTSMaker. For studio-style narration with block editing, see Murf, and for cloning with an API and dubbing, ElevenLabs. The AI voiceover workflow covers checking and delivering the files.
Is Voicemaker worth it?
Documentation review plus dated public user reports. Documentation review, not tested hands-on. Not scored.
Worth it if
- You make narration for a monetized channel or client work and want the cheapest plan that carries commercial rights, which is Starter at $5 a month.
- You voice long scripts in default voices, where 1 credit per character stretches 200k credits to roughly four hours of audio on the provider's own estimate.
- You want to audition voices first, since the free plan gives 25k credits a month for personal or internal evaluation.
Probably not if
- You plan to publish free-plan output commercially, because the terms limit free and trial use to non-commercial purposes.
- You mainly want the most expressive voices, since ProPlus Expressive costs 4 credits per character and cuts each credit pool to a quarter of the default-voice audio.
- You need to keep unused credits, since they are cleared when a plan ends without renewal and rollover applies only to a few plans.

Frequently asked questions
Is voicemaker.in the same as other sites called Voice Maker?
No. Several unrelated services use similar names, including voice changer pages and a VoiceoverMaker product. The tool described here is at voicemaker.in and is operated by Yedap Technologies, LLC of Sheridan, Wyoming, which registered the Voicemaker trademark. Check the domain before signing in with Google or entering card details.
Which audio formats can I download?
The FAQ lists MP3, OGG up to 192 kbps, WAV at 16-bit 48 kHz, OPUS, AAC and an 8 kHz telephony format. The Creator plan card adds 48 kHz WAV and 320 kbps audio. MP3 suits most videos, while WAV is better when an editor will process the narration further before export.
Does Voicemaker train its models on my scripts?
The FAQ says input text and generated audio are not used to train its models. For voice cloning, the terms say training audio is added to research datasets only with separate, explicit consent that you can decline. With your permission, staff may listen to samples to test clone quality, so avoid uploading confidential recordings.
Can I pay without automatic renewal?
Yes. Card payments through Stripe have auto-pay on by default, which you can switch off under Account and Subscription while keeping access to the end of the period. The FAQ says PayPal and RazorPay payments do not renew automatically, so those plans simply expire and must be bought again to continue.
Do Chinese, Japanese or Korean scripts cost more?
Yes. The FAQ says each Chinese, Japanese or Korean character costs 2 credits because of extra processing. It does not say how this combines with the higher rates of ProV2 or ProPlus voices, so convert a short passage first and compare the balance before budgeting a long script in those languages.
