AI tools for lead generation
You need a qualified list of companies from public sources and a way to move it into your CRM. Which tools scrape, enrich, qualify and route leads, and what does each row or run cost?
This is a source-led shortlist, not a performance ranking. Open each profile for the provider source, verification date and plan conditions.
Tools for ai tools for lead generation
Use the profiles below to inspect the specific workflow, pricing and limits before making a choice.
Bardeen
AutomationBardeen is a Chrome extension that scrapes websites, enriches contacts and qualifies leads with AI, billed in credits per output row.
Perplexity
Research & sourcesPerplexity is an AI search service that answers questions from live web sources and links every answer to the pages behind it.
Copy.ai
Writing & contentCopy.ai is a sales and marketing content platform that pairs a multi-model AI chat with brand-trained content agents and credit-metered workflows.
Zapier
AutomationZapier is a no-code automation service that connects web apps so an event in one triggers actions in others, billed by successful tasks.
Make
AutomationMake is a cloud automation builder that links app modules in visual scenarios and bills each module run in credits.
n8n
Automationn8n is a workflow automation platform you can run on managed Cloud or self-host for free, billed per whole workflow run rather than per step.
How each option fits lead generation
Each note comes from the tool's source-checked profile. The condition line is what to confirm before you rely on it for this task.
Bardeen
Bardeen scrapes directory and listing pages, including paginated lists and linked detail pages, then enriches contacts, validates emails and qualifies each row against your criteria with AI.
Check first: Billing is per output row, one credit for scraping and AI actions and three for enrichment; enrichment starts on Premium, and unused credits expire each billing period.
Perplexity
Perplexity researches an account with links to the pages behind each claim, so a qualification note can point to its source.
Check first: Free allows 3 Pro Searches a day and one Research query a month, and scheduled Tasks for account alerts need Pro.
Copy.ai
Workflows chain research, scraping and writing into one repeatable process that can run from a form or an API, which suits prospect research and enrichment at team scale.
Check first: Monthly workflow credits start with Growth at USD 1,000 per month billed annually; building and test-running a workflow uses no credits.
Zapier
Zapier moves a new lead from a form or spreadsheet into other apps such as a CRM, with AI steps to classify or summarize it and Lead Router to route it.
Check first: Free allows two-step Zaps only, and Lead Router is charged per routed lead, so size the task tier by monthly lead volume.
Make
Make's routers and filters send each lead down a different path, for example by region or company size, with a fallback route for records that match no rule.
Check first: Free runs two active scenarios at a 15-minute minimum interval, and each scheduled check counts toward usage even when no new lead arrives.
n8n
n8n workflows can call enrichment APIs through HTTP requests and add AI agent steps, and a complete run counts as one execution however many steps it has.
Check first: The only ongoing free route is self-hosted Community, where servers and upkeep are yours; Cloud starts at EUR 20 per month billed annually after a 14-day trial.
Considered but not listed
- Jasper: Jasper writes on-brand marketing copy but documents no prospect search, scraping or enrichment, and its Salesforce connection is a Business beta.
- ChatGPT: Its web research and drafting overlap with Perplexity and Copy.ai here, without list building, enrichment or lead routing.
- Pitch: Pitch generates personalized decks from imported customer data, which serves leads you already have rather than finding new ones.

One fixed task to compare them
Proposed evaluation, not performed: run the same input through two or three shortlisted tools and judge each against the same acceptance line. We have not run it; results depend on your plan and account.
Sample input
A public member directory page listing 30 companies (name, city, website, industry) that you are permitted to use, plus one qualification rule: the industry is logistics and the city is inside your sales region.
Steps
- Extract name, city, website and industry into 30 rows.
- Qualify each row against the rule and add a one-line reason that cites the source field.
- Export to CSV or a sheet and record the credits, tasks or executions the run used.
- Spot-check five rows against the directory page.
- Passes if
- Thirty rows with no duplicates, a reason tied to a directory field on every qualified row, a spot-check that matches the source, and a recorded usage cost for the run.
- Fails if
- Missing or duplicated rows, a contact or email that comes neither from the source page nor from a documented enrichment step, or a qualification reason the source does not support.
Questions about ai tools for lead generation
Is it lawful to scrape and email the leads I collect?
It depends on the site's terms, the data you keep and the recipient's country. Holding business contact data can bring data-protection duties, and email outreach can require consent or an opt-out. Enrichment and email validation confirm that an address works, not that you may use it. Check your market's rules with a qualified adviser; this page is not legal advice.
How do I estimate what one list will cost?
Count output rows and steps before you run the full list. On Bardeen, 30 scraped rows use 30 credits and enrichment is charged at three credits per row. On Zapier, each successful action step uses a task, and AI steps can use more than one. On n8n, one complete run is one execution. Run a small sample first and read the usage log.
Should I qualify leads with AI or with fixed rules?
Use fixed filters for facts you can read from the source, such as city or industry, and reserve AI qualification for judgment calls like fit with your offer. Keep the AI's reason next to each verdict and review a sample before applying it to the whole list; a verdict without a traceable reason should not decide who gets contacted.
What should happen after the list is ready?
Import it into your CRM or outreach tool rather than emailing from a spreadsheet, and remove duplicates and existing customers first. Keep sending within your email provider's limits and remove anyone who opts out from every list you hold. Writing the first message is covered on the cold email writing page.
